First class of School at Work participants graduates
Ten SCH employees are participating in SCH's School at Work program, which encourages health care workers to advance in their careers. The first class of student employees participating in the School at Work program at Swedish Covenant Hospital graduated this month.
The 34-week intensive course was geared towards preparing service-level employees for furthering their education and career. SCH's ten School at Work students focused their studies on refining grammar and writing skills in the workplace and developing communication and professionalism.
Mayor Richard Daley recently recognized thirteen Chicago hospitals, including SCH, in a press conference focused on a $176,544 grant from the federal economic stimulus program to support School at Work programs in health care.
