ICU, IMCU excel in quality rating for third year in a row
CEO Mark Newton presents Lori Brajcewski, RN (ICU, IMCU) and Pauline Sedlarz, RN (Critical Care) with a PRC plague recognizing the ICU and IMCU with a Five Star Excellence Award.
For the third consecutive year Swedish Covenant Hospital’s ICU and IMCU have received the PRC Five Star Excellence Award. At the June 24 STAR award program, CEO Mark Newton presented Pauline Sedlarz, RN, MS, director of Critical Care, and Lorraine Brajczewski, RN, manager of ICU and IMCU, with a PRC plaque commemorating the award.
This honor is given to nursing units which score in the top 10 percent compared to other units across the nation for responses from patients regarding overall quality of care. It is granted by the Professional Research Consultants Group, a marketing research organization which assists health care organizations in collecting and assessing data on patients’ experiences.
“We accomplished this thanks to the tremendous teamwork these units have,” Brajczewski said. “We respond to patient questions quickly, involve families in patient care and decision making and have a strong ethics presence.”
PRC excellence awards show our patients that they will receive prompt, friendly, patient-centered care. It is SCH’s hope that these patients will share the stories of their positive experiences not only in PRC surveys, but with their neighbors, families and friends in the community.
Congratulations to the ICU and IMCU nursing units.
